Lt. Col. (Ret.) CJ Wallington is the chief technologist for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) market segment for HP Enterprise Services U.S. Public Sector. In this role, Wallington serves as the functional proponent for DoD customers, ensuring their requirements are accurately addressed in corporate service offerings and in new technologies being developed by HP Labs. His vision of the future focuses on helping the customer become more effective and efficient in their daily operations and enabling them to capitalize early on emerging technologies.

Before joining HP, Wallington completed a 23-year career in the U.S. Army. He was first commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Field Artillery from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1987. He served in a variety of artillery positions from Nuclear Support Team Leader through Battalion Supply Officer to Battery Commander before being accepted by the Army Acquisition Corps.

As an acquisition officer, he supported the development of artillery software for rocket launchers, meteorological modeling and targeting data systems. His career focus then shifted to information technology systems and he served as an assistant product manager for Army Knowledge Online (AKO) during their growth from 30,000 to 1,300,000 users, and later as the Army’s Director for Advanced Technologies.

In his final assignment with the Army, Wallington served as the Deputy Director for the National Joint Operations and Intelligence Center, Joint Staff, in the Pentagon.

Wallington’s awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, South West Asia Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), Parachutist badge and Air Assault badge.

Wallington holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, a Master of Science degree in Information Systems, and is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College. He and his wife have been married for more than 20 years and have three children.
