Vice President Engineering & Chief Technology Officer, Lockheed Martin Information Systems & Global Solutions

Haden Land is a certified systems architect with 28 years of professional experience across the public and private sectors. Currently he is vice president of Engineering and the Chief Technology Officer for Lockheed Martin’s Information Systems and Global Solutions – Civil division. IS&GS – Civil serves various nondefense U.S. government agencies, international governments and regulated commercial industries. It is responsible for a wide array of information technology systems and services in areas such as health care, energy, transportation, information and cyber security, data consolidation, extreme environments, citizen protection, and space exploration.

Mr. Land is responsible for new business technical solutions, strategic enterprise initiatives, engineering performance and solution delivery, technical talent development, internal research and development, and emerging technology planning. He leads IS&GS – Civil engineering and business development directly in line with the greatest challenges facing most industry and government infrastructures.

Mr. Land’s areas of expertise include cloud computing, big data, cyber security, mobility, advanced materials, complex adaptive systems, enterprise architecture, and agile development. He applies his longstanding expertise in the engineering and technology industry to the next generation of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) academia, leveraging his leadership roles to shape curricula for our future workforce and igniting and maintaining interest in STEM education among college students. In this capacity, he serves on a wide range of college and industry boards. Key roles include serving as a State University New York – Potsdam trustee, Capitol College advisor, Prince George’s Community College Foundation board member, Hispanic Information Technology Executive Council member, Security Innovation Network Steering Committee member, and as a co-chair for Washington CIO Executive Summit for the District of Columbia.

Mr. Land has a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from State University New York – Potsdam and a master’s degree in Computer Information Science from Syracuse University in New York. He is a sought out speaker for conferences in areas of his expertise, and very active in supporting philanthropic initiatives. He has been selected as one of the Top Hispanics in Business and Technology by Hispanic Engineer and Information Technology magazine from 2006 through 2011; named a Most Influential Hispanic by the Hispanic Information Technology Executive Council in 2011 and 2012; received the 2009 Minerva Award for professional lifetime achievement from State University New York – Potsdam; and in 2010 received an honorary doctorate degree in Humane Letters, Honoris Causa, from Capitol College.
