  • President Barack Obama announced during his Feb. 12 State of the Union speech that the U.S. will launch talks on a comprehensive Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership with the European Union. The negotiations are expected to start this summer. What does that mean to industries and companies that already have substantial foreign direct investments in the U.S and EU? Bloomberg Government Senior Global Business and Trade Analyst Ken Monahan discusses his latest study on this weeks Capital Impact.

Allen Scott (moderator) specializes in customer on boarding and training at Bloomberg Government. Allen previously worked at Arbitron, Inc. where he served in a variety of roles from customer service to sales operations manager. Ken Monahan is an economic analyst. Before joining Bloomberg, he was an international economist and acting team lead in the Office of Trade Policy Analysis at the Commerce Department’s International Trade Administration. He holds a B.A. in economics from the University of New Hampshire, a masters in central and eastern European studies from Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, and a masters in international relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
