Davis: House pay freeze pushback won’t stop bloodletting

Former Virginia Congressman Tom Davis tells WFED\'s Jason Miller about the impact of the new Congress on federal employees.

Eight House members from the Washington, D.C. area are asking the House Appropriations Committee to freeze federal employee pay for only one year.

President Obama sent a legislative proposal to the Hill last week asking for a two-year pay freeze.

In a letter to Chairman David Obey, lawmakers asked that the federal pay raise continue to be considered on an annual basis.

Tom Davis, former Congressman from Virginia, told Federal News Radio’s Jason Miller that the letter comes at a good time, but it may not stop the bloodletting.
