WikiLeaks shows China behind Google hacking

The BBC reports that Chinese officials orchestrated the hacking at Google earlier this year, according to WikiLeaks cables.

The WikiLeaks cables suggest that senior Chinese officials were behind an attack on Google earlier this year, the BBC reports.

Beijing has been “extremely concerned” about the use of high-resolution satellite imagery on Google’s mapping software, Google Earth, says the BBC.

After the attack, Google was forced to quit working within China, although Google has returned to China to a certain degree.
