McAfee: Hackers more creative, have increased attacks

  • Cyber hackers are getting smarter and more creative, according to the latest McAfee quarterly report. Some smart hackers were able to increase targeted attacks on company websites, and phishing attacks, using recent earthquakes and volcano-driven travel problems. But there is some good news, last quarter there were fewer new threats than in the previous year. And, spam rates remained steady. McAfee says hackers have started leveraging major news events to poison internet searches.
