When the rivers in North Dakota began to rise, federal agencies came to the rescue.

The U.S. Army North Command sent black hawk helicopters, search and rescue planners, and logistical support to the state.

Colonel Mark Johnson is the Defense Coordinating Officer in Support of Region 8 assigned to U.S. Army North, which is the Land Component Command for U.S. Northern Command.

He was in Bismarck, North Dakota and tells us about the support they provided.
