The federal government’s footprint is getting smaller. Some human resources experts worry a shrinking footprint might shrink employee engagement and satisfaction. Leases on about 100 million square feet of office space federal agencies use expire in the next five years. That means potentially a huge shift in the federal real estate landscape.
