Chief, Corporate Engagement, Office of CIO, Defense Intelligence Agency Mr. Roland Fabia was selected for the Defense Intelligence Senior Executive Service in September 2013. He currently serves as the Chief for Corporate Engagement. Fabia has a broad responsibility to provide efficient, consistent, and quality enterprise information technology (IT) services, support, and products to more than 54,000 customers. He manages the IT operations for the worldwide Department of Defense Intelligence Information System (DoDIIS) community while providing technical and operational advice on the strategic direction of infrastructure technologies throughout the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). Prior to this position, Fabia was appointed as the DIA Information Sharing Executive in February 2011. His responsibilities included advising the Deputy Director on the full range of IT plans, policy, and security issues affecting information sharing and potential risk to intelligence sources and methods. Fabia is a career intelligence officer with 29 years of service. He began his career as a military capabilities analyst and later served in a number of capacities throughout the Agency including program director, as well as a variety of supervisory and senior analytical positions. He also completed rotational assignments in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, C31, and the Office of the Director for National Intelligence, where he was selected to be the President’s daily briefer for the Vice President. As a military capabilities analyst, Fabia was assigned to the Middle East and North Africa division, Directorate for Analysis, from 1985 to 1992. As a counterproliferation program director, Fabia led the development of DIA’s first secure community of interest in 2000. His previous assignments include C4ISR planner, executive support officer to the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy, and senior intelligence officer for the Combined Intelligence Operations Center, Multi-National Forces, Iraq in 2006. In 2009, Fabia was appointed as DIA senior representative to the Department of Homeland Security. Fabia served five years on active duty in the U.S. Navy, where he was station in Subic Bay, Philippines and later served on the USS Kitty Hawk. After his active duty service, he served fifteen years as a naval officer in the reserves. He is the recipient of the Joint Civilian Service Commendation Award, the DIA Award for Excellence, the DIA Award for Meritorious Civilian Service, the DIA Director’s Award (2), and the National Intelligence Certificate of Distinction. Fabia was born in Nuremberg, Germany. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon in 1981 and a Master’s degree in National Security Studies from the National War College in 2002. He is married to the former Victoria Wilkins of North Canton, Ohio, and they reside in Fairfax, Virginia. They have two children, Alyssa (23) and Andrew (21).
