Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board

Shawn Kingsberry is the Assistant Director of Technology and the Chief Information Officer for the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board. In this role, he advises senior executives on all information technology matters, including IT investments and emerging initiatives. He also coordinates day-to-day IT operations and activities and is responsible for implementing Recovery Board goals and objectives in the technology area.

In May 2010, the Recovery Board and federal CIO Vivek Kundra recognized Mr. Kingsberry for making Recovery.gov the first government-wide information system to be fully migrated to the public cloud. The next year, he received the prestigious FED 100 Award for his leadership in implementing four information systems for the Recovery Board, including Recovery.gov and Federal Reporting.gov.

Before joining the Recovery Board, Mr. Kingsberry worked for the Department of Agriculture, where he managed IT programs for the Forest Service and Rural Development. During his tenure at the Department of Agriculture, Mr. Kingsberry was recognized for his leadership contributions on an IT program that saved more than $100 million. Mr. Kingsberry played a central role in completing an interoperability initiative between the Department of the Interior’s Fish and Wildlife Service and the Department of Agriculture. He also played an important role in other critical IT projects at the Department of Agriculture.
