Originally from New York City, Ari Baranoff is an Assistant to the Special Agent In Charge (ATSAIC) with over nineteen years of federal law enforcement experience. The majority of his career has been with the U.S. Secret Service focusing equally on both the protective and investigative missions of the agency.

Ari Baranoff is currently assigned to U.S. Secret Service Headquarters in Washington, D.C. as one of the Agents in Charge of the Cyber Investigations Branch (CI). As the manager of CI, he has overseen the investigation and capture of the Secret Service’s most wanted financial criminals. Prior to his assuming command of CI, ATSAIC Baranoff lead the New York Electronic Crimes Task Force (ECTF). This multi agency task force brings together the law enforcement, private, and academic sectors to combat cyber crime. The New York ECTF is the flagship task force of the U.S. Secret Service.

ATSAIC Baranoff began his Secret Service career working criminal cases in the Boston Field Office focusing on financial and organized crimes. ATSAIC Baranoff was later assigned to the William Clinton Protective Division (WCD). During his tenure on WCD, ATSAIC Baranoff traveled the world with President Clinton, conducting overseas security advances, close up protection, as well as logistics management. Upon returning to the New York Field Office, ATSAIC Baranoff was assigned to the Joint Terrorism Task Force investigating terrorist financing.

Prior to his Secret Service career, he was a Special Agent for the U.S. Department of Defense Inspector General’s Office dealing with internal affairs investigations and procurement fraud. Ari Baranoff also worked under District Attorney Richard Brown in Queens County, NY.

Ari Baranoff graduated with honors from Hofstra University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. He was inducted into the Hofstra Chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa Academic Honor Society and founded the Hofstra Chapter of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity.
