Mike Giesler is Vice President of Systems Engineering at NetApp, where he is responsible for pre-­‐sales consulting, solution design, technology evangelism, and partner enablement for the US Public Sector. He joined NetApp in 2009 and has helped grow the US Public Sector business to over $1 billion in sales. Mike is engaged in all elements of the business and can usually be found working with customers and partners, blogging and tweeting, driving technical and organizational excellence, leading change or speaking at industry events. Mike has 25 years of IT experience including storage, networking, telecomm, software, data center design and IT management. Prior to NetApp, Mike was Vice President of Sales Engineering at Nortel, where he led a worldwide team of engineering and services sales professionals responsible for Nortel’s most strategic global customers and partners. He has also served as a systems engineer at Bay Networks and as a software developer and IT manager. Now focused on government, education and healthcare, Mike also has experience working in finance and manufacturing industries. Mike received his MBA from Georgetown University, where he graduated with academic distinction and was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma society. He also holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from University at Buffalo.
