J. Steven (Steve) Stone is senior vice president of PNC’s Treasury Management division where he oversees a variety of risk management, compliance, product development, and operating quality initiatives.

Stone has over 30 years of banking experience and joined PNC in 1989 after holding various management positions with Mellon Bank and National Processing Company. He has extensive experience in remittance processing, Automated Clearing House (ACH) services, and healthcare payment processing, and he frequently speaks on these topics at regional and national forums.

He holds permanent Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification and is a former member of the National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA) Executive Committee and Board of Directors. He is the chairperson of the NACHA Healthcare Payments Rules work group, and he served as the chairperson of the Banking Industry Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Task Force from 2001 – 2003.

Stone also currently sits on the Federal Reserve’s Retail Payments Advisory Board and recently completed a five year term on its Wholesale Payments Advisory Board.

In 2012, Stone was honored by NACHA with the George S. Mitchell Payments Systems Excellence Award in recognition of his many years of leadership and service in the area of electronic payments.

Stone earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from West Virginia University in 1980.
