To help stop military budget growth, Congress and the Pentagon appear headed to shrinking the Army. The Army’s training and doctrine command is considering cutting its brigades from 4,000 soldiers to 3,000. The trick is how to stay lethal. One strategy under consideration: Greater use of unmanned vehicles and robots.
