The federal government is going to have to shell out more cash to meet its green goals. Back in 2011, President Barack Obama directed agencies to invest $2 billion in energy efficiency and sustainability. A new report by Bloomberg Government shows that’s nowhere near enough money to meet the mandates. The findings are sure to have companies salivating at the prospect of greening the government.

The House Judiciary Committee is considering a bill to force companies to report cyber attacks on their networks. A draft copy circulating around Capitol Hill would give companies just 72 hours to notify the government about a major breach. They’d have two weeks to report other attacks. Jennifer Martinez first reported on this bill for The Hill newspaper.

Roger Baker didn’t have much down time after resigning last month as chief information officer for the Veterans Affairs Department. The Virginia IT firm Agilex has named Baker its chief strategy officer. Baker tells Federal News Radio Executive Editor Jason Miller he took a “three bears” approach to finding the new job.
