The Transportation Security Administration and the American Federation of Government Employees have come to an agreement on their first-ever labor contract. It will be submitted for ratification in the coming weeks. Gage says the contract will provide for “increased uniformity on fair treatment,” flexibility in scheduling and a new dispute resolution process.

You’ve probably heard of salmonella and e-coli. Those are just two of the bacteria that contaminate food and can make people sicker than dogs. The Food and Drug Administration can identify 100,000 potentially deadly bugs. To help prevent outbreaks of food contamination, FDA wants to build a database of the DNA profiles of known bacteria.
