The U.S. military says a rain of Tomahawk cruise missiles and precision bombs on Libya is successfully beating down Moammar Gadhafi’s air defenses. And now a cruise missile has reportedly blasted Gadhafi’s residential compound, while fighter jets destroyed a line of tanks moving on the rebel capital. The Libyan leader vowed a long war, but the Pentagon says they want to hand over operations to their international partners within a few days.
