DHS has launched a new 24-hour watch and warning facility focusing specifically on cybersecurity. The MS-ISAC Cyber Security Operations Center builds on a long-standing information sharing partnership between the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center in New York, and Homeland Security. The idea is to enhance situational awareness at the state and local level for cybersecurity and communications. DHS Secretary Napolitano says the federal government cannot secure the nation’s cyber infrastructure alone. The new facility will help the federal government quickly provide cyber risk, vulnerability, and mitigation data to state and local governments.
