  • Two major defense contractors are joining forces to compete for the Missile Defense Agency’s Ground-Based Midcourse Defense development and sustainment contract. DefenseNews.com reports that Raytheon and Lockheed Martin are working together to compete for the contract. Boeing has been the prime contractor for the GMD program, overseeing and integrating systems developed by other major defense subcontractors, including Raytheon and Northrop Grumman. Now, the Missile Defense Agency is recompeting the program and is expected to release the final request for proposals within weeks.
  • One of the prime sources of talent some agencies have been looking at is industry. American Systems is a contractor that does a lot with the Department of Defense in acquisition and logistics, and national security. The president of that company, William Hoover, spoke about it on the Industry Chatter segment on In Depth with Francis Rose. Hoover says the trend has been affecting his company.
