This week on BGOV’s Capital Impact show hosted by Allen Scott:

  • The federal government’s top 25 technology services vendors announced 15 acquisitions in the first six months of 2013, compared with 22 during the first half of 2012, according to the Bloomberg Government Technology M&A Tracker. Senior technology and telecommunications analyst Afzal Bari says that while the activity was down, there were still some key moves made in the technology vendor arena.
  • Millions of dollars could be saved if Congress is able to successfully whittle down the 10 different camouflage uniforms to just one. In the eye of sequestration, Illinois Representative Bill Enyart says that this could “eliminate the waste and duplication in the camouflage uniforms policy”. Bloomberg News reporter Timothy Homan addresses the topic in “Camouflage Uniforms of Many Colors Questioned in Congress” on this weeks Capital Impact.
