New federal hiring concentrated in DoD, VA, DHS

Despite considerations to cut federal workforce sizes, three agencies\' staff have been growing in recent years.

Workforces at the Department of Defense, Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security have all gotten bigger over the last four years, writes editor-in-chief Tom Shoop in Government Executive.
