Colleen M. Kelley, president of the National Treasury Employees Union, joined host Mike Causey to talk about the various threats facing feds and what — if anything — can be done to block or minimize them.

In the second half of the program, Sean Reilly and Andy Medici, from the Federal Times analyzed the situation from another angle, and talk about the president’s proposed reorganization of financially-oriented federal agencies.

Reilly and Medici also discussed:

  • the looming issue of FAA’s authorization running out this month
  • a couple of new agency buyouts and early retirements
  • the shrinking federal workplace and how agencies are increasingly cramming more employees into smaller office spaces
  • how Congressional budget cuts are affecting plans to construct a DHS headquarters and other new federal facilities
