Cybersecurity can make for strange bedfellows. The U.S. government is teaming up with China and Russia to help thwart spies and hackers – from China and Russia, NextGov reports.

Increasingly, officials from the three nations are finding common ground in the need for cybersecurity and trusted identities in cyberspace. Bruce McConnell, counselor for the National Protection and Programs Directorate, said cooperating on identity management could be a starting point for wider cooperation on cybersecurity. For example the FBI has set up a liaison in China, while the Secret Service has an office in Russia and plans to open one in China to investigate cyber crime.
