Another senior executive is leaving the General Services Administration.

Dennis Papula, the director for management and strategy in GSA’s Office of Citizen Services and Innovative Technologies, is moving to the Federal Trade Commission, according to an email sent to staff on Friday, which Federal News Radio obtained.

“Dennis’ departure is a big loss for OCSIT, but this is a great career growth opportunity for Dennis,” wrote Dave McClure, associate administrator of OCSIT, in the email to staff. “As many of you may know, Dennis has been at GSA for almost nine years serving in different capacities, but mostly in management and leadership capacities in the Office of the Chief Information Officer, where he was instrumental in helping GSA become a leader in technology adoption and innovation. He came to OCSIT in February 2012 and has made a tremendous impact as the director of business management in the time he has been with us.”

At the FTC, Papula will work for agency CIO Bajinder Paul, who worked as the deputy associate administrator for OCSIT’s Office of Innovative Technologies before heading to the FTC in September. Paul spent almost three years at GSA.

Papula will develop and oversee the FTC’s IT modernization strategy.

Papula’s last day at GSA will be Feb. 7. McClure didn’t say who would replace him even on an interim basis.

Papula’s decision to leave makes him the second OCSIT senior executive to leave in the last week. Kelly Olson, the office’s director of strategic initiatives and outreach, announced she will join the Atlantic Media Group after spending four years at GSA.

Olson, along with deputy administrator Susan Brita, chief information officer Casey Coleman and director of the Center for Excellence in Digital Government Sheila Campbell announced separately they’d be moving on to new jobs.
