Have a burning question about defense acquisition?

Acquipedia may be able to help.

The online, collaborative portal, managed by the Defense Acquisition University, features 400 articles on common defense acquisition topics. Each entry provides a definition, a brief narrative and links to policy guidance and other tools.

Jill Garcia, a knowledge project officer at DAU, told In Depth with Francis Rose that while DAU faculty experts write the articles, everyday users can suggest new topics.

Garcia said the site primarily targets the defense workforce. “But it could be beneficial to anybody in the federal acquisition workforce,” she added.

“Getting the word out so that people know we have these resources online” has been a challenge, Garcia acknowledged. In fact, DAU has operated the site since 2009.

Despite its low profile, Garcia said the site has garnered praise from people who use it.

“What it does is aggregates a lot of content in a very succint, ‘Reader’s Digest’ kind of format for them,” she said, “and allows them to get high-value content very quickly.”
