2 contractors sentenced for defrauding DoD

A federal court has sentenced two South Florida aircraft-parts brokers for defrauding the military.

A federal court has sentenced two South Florida aircraft-parts brokers for defrauding the military.

Henry McFlicker and Ayodha Persaud ran Daytona Aerospace, a company that bought and sold civilian and military aircraft parts. The Defense Department awarded them more than $8.5 million over the past decade. McFlicker and Persaud told military officials that they were supplying new parts straight from the manufacturer when they really were getting parts from unauthorized local dealers.

McFlicker will serve nearly four years in prison. Persaud will serve just over three years. They will also pay more than $1.4 million in restitution to the government.
