The Federal Executive Board in Baltimore has recommended that federal agencies in Baltimore reopen Wednesday -- with unscheduled leave and telework options in place. Federal agencies in D.C. reopen Wednesday

Federal agencies in the Washington, D.C., area reopened Wednesday with unscheduled leave and telework options available to employees, the Office of Personnel Management announced. Before OPM made the announcement, several agencies contacted by Federal News Radio detailed only minor impacts from the storm and said they would be ready to open if OPM made that decision.

Feds can apply for disaster relief through FEEA

Federal employees who experience major loss during Post-tropical Cyclone Sandy can apply for a grant from the Federal Employee Education and Assistance Fund. FEEA also offers no-interest emergency loans of up to $1,000. Loans are repaid through the employees' payroll.
