Reverse auctions can save your agency money, but only if it uses them the right way. That's according to Dan Gordon, a procurement professor at George Washington University and former administrator of the Office of Federal Procurement Policy, who testified about reverse auctions to the House Small Business committee. On In Depth with Francis Rose, he explained why he told the committee agencies should ask themselves a few questions before they decide to use reverse auctions.

Air Force suspends, begins debarment process of FedBid

The Air Force's decision comes after the Veterans Affairs IG found alleged procurement fraud, intimidation and threats against a federal official. FedBid says it's cooperating with the Air Force and believes it took the necessary steps to fix the problems.

FedBid splits into two, names Jordan CEO of new public sector company

The reverse auction vendor says its decision to split up its federal and commercial businesses has nothing to do with the critical Veterans Affairs inspector general report from September. Joe Jordan said FedBid has taken several steps to ensure any problems highlighted by the IG are resolved.

House lawmakers call for OFPP to issue reverse auction guidance
