Army to take first integrated set of IT to the battlefield
Two brigades of the Army's 10th Mountain Division are training on a ready-to-go set of networking capabilities as they prepare to deploy to Afghanistan. The IT comes out of the Network Integration Evaluation process.

Army agile acquisition to yield payoff
Dan Hughes, who was recently promoted to Army brigadier general, is the director of the Army's System of Systems Integration Directorate within the office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology. His office is one of the key players in the agile acquisition process the Army's trying to build.

Army readies new network standards
The Army plans to release technical standards for its IT systems next year, in a process that leaders say will give greater predictability to industry. For the Army, the benefit will be an enterprise network that lets it quickly integrate new technologies as they come to market.
