White House IT budget request lower in 2011

The administration proposes to decrease the governmentwide technology budget by 1.6 percent over the 2010 enacted funding. White House also zeroes out funding for OPM's Retirement Systems Modernization program in 2011. OMB also plans to create centralized IT services around data centers, cloud computing and other areas.

GSA's next cloud offering: e-mail-as-a-service

GSA is ramping up cloud computing, preparing the next two governmentwide contracts for cloud computing. Agency issues notice that a RFP could be issued by early 2011. GSA also considering geospatial platform-as-a-service offering later next year.
