Agencies more aggressive in suspending, debarring contractors

A new report from an interagency committee shows departments have increased the number of contractors suspended or debarred by at least 150 from 2009 to 2010. The Army, DLA, DHS, EPA and OPM have debarred more vendors than other agencies over the past two years.

Contractor misconduct getting second look from House Oversight Committee

The General Services Administration in the next week will unveil a new system making it easier for agencies to understand if a contractor is found guilty of breaking a law.

GSA to unveil database to track vendor misconduct

Agencies are struggling to properly use suspension and debarment processes. DHS, DoT and USAID are making major changes to how they oversee contractors after audits find shortcomings in each of their procedures. Lawmakers say they're concerned about contractors who are breaking the law receiving awards.
