No new buyouts on Postal Service horizon
The U.S. Postal Service will not be offering any new buyouts in the near future, according to Anthony Vegliante, the agency's chief human resources officer. USPS offered three different buyouts in 2012. In an exclusive interview with Federal News Radio, Vegliante said the Postal Service will drop to around 500,000 employees by the end of January due to multiple consolidation efforts at the agency.

Postal regulators OK shorter post office hours
Postal regulators agreed with a Postal Service plan to cut the window hours at 13,000 post offices. Operating hours will be cut to six, four or even two hours per weekday at these locations.

Industry group warns of bleakest IT budget in 17 years
The government's IT budget hasn't been squeezed this hard since Forrest Gump was on the big screen in 1994. In the next five years, agencies will focus their spending on mission-critical technology. They're also finding ways to save money though nontraditional contracts and IT consolidation, a survey by the industry group TechAmerica Foundation found.

Army to test enterprise e-mail for all of DoD
Lt. Gen. Sorenson says the service will issue a RFP in the coming weeks. Then the Army will follow with a solicitation for its data center consolidation effort, called APCs. Sorenson says it will launch Apps for the Army in the coming weeks as well.
