Vietnam veterans sue military in Conn. over PTSD

The military has failed to correct the wrongful discharges of thousands of Vietnam veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, an advocacy group says in a federal lawsuit.

The State Department said Wednesday it is reviewing a U.S. Embassy's use of a wildly popular Vietnamese website laden with suspected pirated music and Hollywood movies to promote American values, including respect for intellectual property rights.

In search of: photos from ‘Nam

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is looking for a few good pictures. The National Call for Photos is part of a campaign that launched at the Newseum here in Washington. The goal is to get one photo of every one of the 58 thousand men and women whose names are on the Memorial for an underground visitors center being built nearby. FedEx Office says people can drop off photos at their locations across the country.

Vietnam Era General Exonerated

Gen. John D. Lavelle has been vindicated 30 years after he died. He was an Air Force General who was stripped of two stars and removed from his command from his command in 1972 because of allegations that he ordered unauthorized bombings in North Vietnam and keep them secret. The Pentagon now says tapes from the Nixon Administration reveal he had permission to do so.

Fort Detrick tested Agent Orange between 1946-1963

Researchers at Camp Detrick and later Fort Detrick tested Agent Orange and other herbicides used in Vietnam many times between 1946 and 1963, according to Department of Defense records.
