AP: Military suicides down by more than 22 percent

Suicides across the military have dropped by more than 22 percent this year, defense officials said. But the officials are unsure why and are reluctant to pin the decline on detection and prevention efforts.

Army 'stand down' focuses day on suicide training

In a service-wide "stand down," the Army has ordered soldiers to put aside their usual duties Thursday and spend the day on suicide prevention training as the military struggles with a spike in the number of self-inflicted deaths this year.

School discipline changes coming to Fairfax County

Counselors combat string of suicides in Pr. William

Grief counselors returned to Battlefield High School in Prince William County again on Tuesday after a student committed suicide last week, the fourth teenager to do so in the county so far this school year.
