OPM survey shows feds upbeat despite challenges
Most federal employees remain satisfied at work, despite pay freezes and budget cuts. But a sizeable chunk of workers believe that pay raises and promotions are not based on merit and that their supervisors don't know how to handle poor performers. The Office of Personnel Management released these findings as part of the 2011 Employee Viewpoint Survey.

OMB asks agencies for self-assessments
The administration conducts its first set of reviews of the three-to-eight high priority goals each agency set last year. OMB is encouraging agencies to conduct their own reviews in order to keep focus on meeting the objectives. All agency performance information eventually will be made public through a new portal, Performance.gov.
