Indian Health Service settles employee overtime case for $80M

Three employee unions: the Laborers' International Union of North America, the National Federation of Federal Employees and the American Federation of Government Employees Local 3601, filed a lawsuit against IHS claiming employees were forced to work overtime, but not compensated.

The Senate Armed Services Committee has voted to overhaul the military's compensation system, shifting it slightly away from a defined benefit structure. The committee would also add a government-matched investment plan similar to a 401k. As Federal News Radio's Jared Serbu reports, the vote puts both the House and Senate on the same page. But the White House is still studying the issue.
