Vendors protested GSA's desire to extend the Office Supplies 2 contract for six more months. GSA says agencies can buy office supplies through the multiple award schedules. National Industries for the Blind protests the OS3 contract to the agency, not to GAO.
Reps. Grace Meng and Tim Walberg introduce a provision in the Defense authorization bill to require GAO to study the impact of strategic sourcing on small businesses. GSA also is facing more than two dozen protests over its current and future office supplies contracts and now OASIS.

The first of two contracts letting agencies buy complex professional services kicked off with awards going to 123 small businesses.
The Government Accountability Office says GSA is within its rights to require that joint ventures must be among teams that have a proven track record of success. Aljucar, Anvil-Incus & Co. said it will ask GAO to reconsider its decision or take the case to the Court of Federal Claims.
Under an agreement signed Thursday, the Air Force will use OASIS as its default option for professional service contracts. The service agrees to spend at least $500 million under the multiple award contract.
