David Mader would come back to government after spending most of the last 11 years at Booz Allen Hamilton. Mader spent 32 years working for the IRS before retiring in 2003. The President also plans to nominate new senior officials at Education, VA and the Army.
President Obama is expected to sign the bill into law later this week that will require new levels of effort to make federal data more accessible. Now that the three-year effort to get the bill passed is complete, the hard work begins to make it a reality.
The General Services Administration and the Office of Personnel Management sign an agreement to co-manage the new training and management assistance contract. GSA will handle the acquisition facets, and OPM will oversee requirements and services part of the contract that could be worth billions of dollars.

The Office of Personnel Management is preparing to take the temperature of the federal workforce.
