GSA office working on data-sharing tool

DoD fortifying cyber buying strategy

Frank Kendall, DoD's acting acquisition chief, said the first version fell flat due to "interest groups" weakening it. He said Congress required the strategy to detail how the military will buy offensive and defensive cyber capabilities. It's part of a broader effort to fix the Pentagon's acquisition process.

FedRAMP eases vendors' path to offer secure cloud services

Under the new concept of operations, the interagency board now is letting vendors submit their cloud services for approval without first having to have a contract. The document details three major areas of how the FedRAMP process will work. The program management office will release two other major documents in the coming months to further detail the cloud security process.

Interior trying again to move email, collaboration to cloud

NIST to fund pilots to improve online transactions

The agency will fund five-to-eight projects between $1.25 million and $2 million for up to two years. The pilot programs will cover NSTIC's four principles to make identity management secure, interoperable, privacy-enhancing and cost effective.
