OMB preparing performance management dashboard
Administration will list agencies' progress in meeting their high-priority goals detailed in the 2011 budget request. OMB wants quarterly updates to ensure agencies are on track to meet their plans of actions and milestones. Meanwhile, the House passes a bill to mandate a new type of performance management.

OMB pressing agencies to get IT projects on track
Federal CIO Vivek Kundra says there are $27 billion in IT projects that are troubled. The administration will issue a new strategy to expand the use of TechStat review sessions. Agencies also are feeling the heat to review all IT projects before they submit their 2012 budgets to OMB.

GSA plans to take e-mail, collaboration to the cloud
Agency issues RFP for e-mail through software-as-a-service. GSA asks for 39 mandatory services with the hope of reducing the cost and modernizing its systems. The new system could support as many as 30,000 users.

DoD shows off health IT progress
Defense Health Information Management System's program manager says e-health records are saving lives and making soldiers safer. The information also is giving commanders more data on soldiers to help stave off health problems.
