White House challenge puts the quest to go green in feds' hands

The government wants to go green and it's soliciting employee suggestions to help do it. It's a top-to-bottom effort though, as federal agencies also released their annual sustainability plans and the President announced a new GreenGov Symposium.

White House's next contest: How would you green the government?

GreenGov Challenge starts today asking employees to submit ideas to lower the government's energy footprint. The contest ends on Oct. 31. A steering committee made up of senior agency officials will decide which ideas can be applied across the government.
