Hijacking in Mexico

Five men were arrested at Mexico City's Benito Juarez International Airport yesterday after a failed hijack attempt. An Aero Mexico airplane was hijacked in Cancun and flown to Mexico City as the hijackers threatened to blow up the plane. This was the greatest fear for Mexican authorities as a result of insecurity in that country brought on by the drug war. The hijackers, reportedly from Bolivia, demanded asylum and to talk with President Felipe Calderon.
