DoJ holding more managers accountable for diversity

The Justice Department will begin evaluating managers based, in part, on their adherence to its diversity management plan. It's the latest step in a diversity strategy that began in 2010. The department is advising other agencies on how to diversify their workforces ahead of a March 16 deadline for all agencies to complete diversity and inclusion strategies.

Officials oppose trying terrorist at Gitmo

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Attorney General Eric Holder are expressing their opposition to a move prevent terror suspects from being tried in Federal Court. The two of them sent a letter to Senate leaders saying the Republican measure would deprive them of a potent weapon in the fight against terrorism. They also claim it could lead increase the risk of terrorists escaping justice and putting other people in danger.

Senate votes to end DoJ's 'Fast and Furious' gun program

The Senate voted Tuesday to effectively block the Justice Department from undertaking gun-smuggling probes like the flawed "Operation Fast and Furious" aimed at breaking up networks running guns to Mexican drug cartels but that lost track of hundreds of the weapons, some of which were used to commit crimes in Mexico and the United States.
