DISA cuts ribbon on new headquarters
The Defense Information Systems Agency celebrated the ceremonial opening of its new 95-acre headquarters campus on Friday. Less than half of the 4,600 employees already work at its new headquarters at Fort Meade, Md. The agency expects the rest of its staff to move there from several northern Virginia locations by late August.

Army cites progress at Arlington Cemetery
Army officials told Congress Thursday that they had made progress in reforming management at Arlington National Cemetery, an institution they said lacked a management foundation when a new management team took over in the wake of a scandal involving mismarked grave sites and other problems. Some members still are unhappy with the changes.

White House draft bill expands DHS cyber responsibilities
Federal News Radio viewed a copy of the proposal that would codify DHS's role in overseeing civilian agency networks. The draft legislation would expand DHS's authorities to those that are similar to what DoD already has around cyber. It also would include new roles around acquisition, personnel and FISMA implementation.

Senator optimistic about major cyber bill this year
Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), who led a Senate Intelligence Committee review of cybersecurity policy last year, said he is hopeful that Congress will be able to pass an overhaul of cyber laws this year. Whitehouse has been critical of the pace at which the Obama Administration has moved to propose such changes to lawmakers.
