The sisters and volunteers at the Daughters of Charity in Emmitsburg are relieved that an envelope received Wednesday morning containing a mysterious white powder turned out to be harmless.

Emmitsburg zoning change to allow senior housing met with applause

The Daughters of Charity requested the change, so that part of the Provincial House on their campus could be transformed into affordable senior housing.
