Whitman student caught with weapon on school grounds

A freshman exchange student at Walt Whitman High School has been charged for taking what looked like a semi-automatic handgun to school. Montgomery County Police say the weapon turned out to be an Airsoft pistol and the whole event may be a "misunderstanding."

Bomb threat evacuation to be reviewed

Montgomery County fire and school officials are reviewing an incident where 24 middle school students were treated for heat-related illnesses after they were forced to wait outside while a bomb threat was investigated.
