Ricardo Herring, Director of Facilities Planning, National Institutes of Health

The National Institutes of Health's massive Bethesda campus is going to undergo quite the facelift over the next couple of decades. NIH has put together a 20-year, 500-page plan for the campus that will include 17 new buildings. Ricardo Herring, the director of the Division of Facilities Planning at NIH, joined Tom Temin on the Federal Drive with more on what NIH is planning.

Parking costs could go up in Silver Spring, Bethesda

The Montgomery County Council is considering an increase from 50 cents an hour to 60 cents an hour in Silver Spring. The hike also would be a dime in Bethesda, from 65 cents an hour to 75 cents an hour.

Whitman student caught with weapon on school grounds

A freshman exchange student at Walt Whitman High School has been charged for taking what looked like a semi-automatic handgun to school. Montgomery County Police say the weapon turned out to be an Airsoft pistol and the whole event may be a "misunderstanding."
