A hundred and 50 years ago, Maryland was caught between north and south. The state was severely divided when the civil war started even though Maryland stayed in the Union. Marylanders fought on both sides of the conflict.

Maryland plans low-key events for 150th anniversary of Civil War
Virginia is planning several commemorations over the next four years to mark the 150th anniversary of the American Civil war, but the events just across the Potomac may be a bit more low-key.
