Symantec producing patch for shutdown of Armed Forces clinical data repository

Symantec's Veritas Storage Foundation storage software was the cause of a shutdown of the Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application clinical data repository as identified by the Military Health System. About 9.7 million electronic records for active-duty and retired military personnel and their families are stored on AHLTA.

VA, DoD to test initial joint e-health record in July

Agency officials will meet in June to approve the rollout of the first piece of an integrated and interoperable electronic health record for soldiers and veterans. VA and DoD also are creating a centralized database that will be located in DISA's data centers.
