Census offers early outs at headquarters

As of Thursday, 206 employees at the U.S. Census Bureau\'s Human Resources Division applied for early retirement offers.

As of Thursday, 206 headquarters employees at the U.S. Census Bureau applied for early retirement offers.

Census said the employees must meet retirement eligibility standards between Feb. 29 and April 3. The agency said it would accept up to 400 positions.

The offers were available to the following positions, according to a Census email to Federal News Radio:

  • Statistics
  • Mathematical Statistics
  • Information Technology
  • Economist
  • Geography
  • Miscellaneous Administration & Program
  • Program Management
  • Management & Program Analysis
  • Printing Services
  • Human Resources Management
  • Human Resources Assistant
  • Accounting
  • Budget Analysis
  • Contracting
  • Miscellaneous Clerk & Assistant
  • Mail & File Clerk
  • Secretary
  • Training Instruction
